FAQS
How Long Does a Project Typically Take to Complete?
Garage Floor Installation – Most garage floors are easily installed within 2 days. If your installation involves removal of an existing coating, it may take up to 3 days depending on the difficulty of the removal.
Spray Texture or Stain & Reseal – These coatings may be done between 3-6 days. This depends on the scope of work to be performed for your concrete’s individual needs and weather conditions.
Stamped Overlay – This coating usually takes a full work week, 5 days. This may go to 6 days depending on the intricacy of the stamp, as well as the scope of work to be performed for your concrete’s individual needs and weather conditions.
* All estimates of how long a project will take are based on weather permitting. Please keep in mind that in construction jobs can run early or late due to unforeseen circumstances.
What Time Should I Expect a Creative Crew to Arrive?
You can expect a Creative Crew to arrive on your scheduled date anywhere from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
A representative from our office will call you every morning with a 2–4-hour window.
It is rare, but the earliest a Creative Crew will arrive would be 7:00 am.
Creative Crews will most likely arrive at different time frames every day to account for drying time and the multiple jobs on schedule.
*Please keep in mind that this is a construction company and construction can run early or late. Time frames given are a rough estimate of when your Creative Crew will arrive and are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
Do I Need to Be Home During My Project?
In most cases, if our Creative Crews have access to the area that they are working, the homeowner does not need to be present.
In the following case, the homeowner must be present:
- Concrete Staining: Our crews will not seal any stain job without written approval on the color from the homeowner. Staining usually takes place on the third or fourth work day depending on the scope of work.
How Can I Make a Payment?
A 50% down payment is required for all projects. The down payment is due within one week from the date that you confirm you scheduled start date. The balance is due upon completion.
Payments can be made by the following methods:
- A check can be mailed to or dropped off at the Creative Coatings office: 6639 Schuster St, Las Vegas, NV 89118. For the balance, you may hand the crew if you would like instead of mailing or dropping it off.
- A card payment can be made over the phone. All major credit cards are accepted. Any and all card transactions require a transaction fee.
- Financing. We offer multiple financing plans that suit our customers needs.
Cancellation/Rescheduling of the project will occur if the down payment is not made in the time frame as mentioned above unless other wise discussed with a member of our office staff.
Who Will Move My Furniture Items?
Each homeowner is responsible for removing all furniture and items from the surface(s) being worked on.
For garage floors, this includes water softeners. If you have a water softener and would like the area underneath it to be coated, it will need to be moved out prior to our Creative Crew arriving.
How Long Before I Can Use My Surface Again?
Garage Floors – Both our Standard and Premium options involve a 2-day process, the following are the differing drying time after the sealer is put on:
Standard: Wait 3 days to walk on it, and 5 days to drive and place items on it.
Premium: Wait 1 day to walk on it, and 3 days to drive on it.
Spray Texture, Stamp, & Stain Overlays: For all these coatings, after it is sealed, you will need to wait at least 3 days to walk on it, 5 days to place any items on it, and 5-6 days to drive on it for driveways.
- Please use caution when replacing items on any of our coatings to prevent scratch marks and chipping.
What Preparations Do I Need to Account For?
Pool Level – The autofill must be shut off and the water level must be lowered to 4 inches below the bottom of the coping. This is so our crews can mask off the pool to prevent as much dust as possible from getting into the water.
Sprinklers & Irrigation Systems – If these systems are near or spray onto the surface our crews are working on, they must be shut off for the total time our crew is working on the surface, and during the drying process.
Deck Drains – We provide the option to replace pool deck drains. However, our crews will paint over pool deck drains unless otherwise stated. Please make sure you and our salesman are on the same page about what you would prefer or if you have any concerns.
Color Choice – We want you to be confident in your color selection! We understand that sometimes last-minute changes must be made but please note that color changes may result in additional cost or rescheduling due to stock and shipment times. If you need to revisit our color options, please contact our office and one of our representatives will be happy to assist you.
Multiple Areas – If our Creative Crews are working on multiple surfaces around your house, they will coordinate the work in a way that always insures you an entrance/exit.
Dust and Debris – Please keep in mind that this is a construction company and while our Creative Crews do their best to prevent dust/debris, there is a chance you will find small traces of it. Nothing minor clean up and cleaning your pool filters cannot fix!
Does the Removal of My Existing Coating Cost Extra?
Yes, if your project requires a removal, our salesman would’ve included it in the price on your contract up to ½” thick.
Please be aware that coatings found to be more than ½” thick during removal will result in an additional charge.
What Can I Do to Maintain My Coating?
All of our coatings can be easily maintained!
Garage Floors/Epoxy Surfaces – Spills/leaks of any kind should be wiped off as soon as possible. We recommend using a mild dish detergent and room temperature water to keep your surface shiny and clean.
Outdoor Surfaces (Spray Texture, Stamp, & Stain) – Outdoor surfaces are prone to water marks due to Nevada’s hard water, especially if the surface is near sprinkler/irrigation systems or any other water source. These can be easily removed with a mild detergent, soft bristle brush, and lukewarm water. We also recommend that spills/leaks and water stains of any kind be wiped off as soon as possible as the difficulty of removing will increase the longer it sits.
- We do not recommend using any harsh chemicals or power washing. If you are having difficulty, please contact our salesman. Creative Coatings does not offer any cleaning services.
