FAQS
What will the product look like?
There are a number of perks when you choose us for your job and one of them is that the product we use is customized especially for suiting your needs and enhancing your space. It goes without saying that it’s going to look truly amazing, no matter what you choose! You can start by choosing from our lineup of standard textures, designs, and colors, plus an assortment of amazing custom coloring techniques and sealants. We can provide designs that simulate the overall look of brick, cobblestone, flagstone, Kool deck, Mexican tile, or slate. Or if you would prefer, acid staining your floor will give it a surface that is quite unique.
What preparation is needed prior to applying the new surface?
When we prepare your concrete for installation, we will be using a combination of sanders, pressure washers, muriatic acid, and grinders, depending on the requirements for creating an ideal profile. Chemicals will be used for removing adhesives, oil, or paint. Don’t worry. We come prepared for just about anything since we know that each and every surface presents its own individual challenges and idiosyncrasies.
What kind of services and warranties do you offer?
Services for assisting customers with maintaining any of our installations include cleaning, touch-ups, resealing, and recoloring. Our floor experts start by evaluating each individual service request and then offering affordable pricing for accommodating the specific requirements.
We also offer warranties ranging from one year to five years, including:
~ Commercial surfaces- One-year limited warranty for delamination and fading~ Surfaces with calcium or alkali issues- One-year limited warranty for delamination and fading~ Acrylic sealant- Two-year warranty~ Full Broadcast Epoxy Chip Systems for garages and/or any other covered surface- Five-year warranty
Will the concrete surface be shiny?
All of our customers have the option of choosing a glossy, semi-gloss, or matte sealant according to your personal taste, as well as where it’s being applied. That’s why we’re happy to discuss the specific longevity and shine of each sealant product prior starting your project. In addition, how much shine it has can vary with absorption rate, color, lighting, and texture.
How often will resealing the surface be necessary?
Ideally, it should be re-sealed every two to four years, depending on the amount of traffic it had seen, exposure to sunlight, and how often it has been cleaned. The optimum time for resealing is when it starts looking dull, is hard to clean, or if water starts immediately penetrating the surface. After application of a fresh sealant coat, your floor’s colors will be fully intensified and easy to clean again.
Can you repair cracks?
There are a number of methods and price points involved in concrete crack repairs. The method we use is determined by several factors, including your budget and size of the cracks, as well as the type of material that will go over the crack i.e. coating or tile, etc. Also, no matter what method is used for filling a crack, it could reappear. That’s why, we may recommend a specific pattern, like flagstone, for working repaired cracks into our design, disguising the crack and making it easier to repair in the future if necessary.
How will the surface stand up to discolorations, oils, salt, tire marks, and stains?
Every one of our applications is finished off with a seal coat, which will make the surface non-porous. This will prevent discoloration and excessive fading caused by UV rays. The majority of stains, such as those caused by animal urine, the calcium in water, oil, or tire treads, will easily wash off.
Will it be slippery?
We always have a wide range of available textures for you to choose from. Available, from smooth products to those that were designed to be rough or just semi-rough. Every single job we perform is done according to our customer’s specifications.
How long do people and pets have to stay off the surface following application?
Once the sealant is applied, you have to wait 24 hours. In addition, waiting three days is recommended prior to putting heavy boxes or even light furniture on it. And, avoiding putting appliances, heavy furniture, or vehicles on your new surface for four to five days is also recommended.
There are numerous manufacturers of products for coating concrete. Which one’s the best?
It’s true that the majority of companies these days are claiming that they have a truly unique or even revolutionary new product, however, there is really not much of a discernible difference between products from the leading manufacturers. In addition, unfortunately, they can’t possibly control all of the independent contractors and their methods of installation. The only distinguishable difference lies with the depth of their experience and the quality of the craftsmanship. And, those factors mean that every company needs to be weighed on its own merits instead of on the products they use.
Please Note that Lowes and Home Depot are not selling high- quality concrete coating products, therefore their products are not recommended. We prefer to use the quality products from Concrete Armor, Excell Deck Coatings, Life Deck, Maverick, Super-Krete, TCC, and Westcoat.
